Leading automotive client require a MCIP ENGINEER to determine development and validation plans for common rail pumps or specific components relative to cost reduction opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Overall design content for the pump and or its components and will direct a drafting/design detailer for pump components and other relevant design items.
* FEA analysis and other modelling either directly or through the utilisation of other department or organisation resources.
* Lead the development and validation of changes to new generation CR fuel pump to improve costs.
* Identify any cost-down opportunities; to then assess, plan & co-ordinate their validation and implementation.
* Drive design changes that assure the program meets cost, DFM, performance and timing goals.
* Drive appropriate balancing of product performance, validation and cost requirements
* Facilitate fast and accurate two-way communication with design and process engineers to assure robust design objectives.
* Be positive, encourage, coach, and share knowledge with all CR pump cross-functional team members.
* Participate in Program and design reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
* Experience in Solid works/Catia modelling
* Must have been involved with a product that was taken successfully into volume production
* Must be innovative and visionary in developing cost reduction options.
* Extensive experience in design and or development engineering.
* Experience in Gas or Diesel fuel system components.
* Experience of HP Pump and fuel systems experience.
* Personal strengths should include: Confidence, self-directed, goal oriented, customer focused, with strong team interaction skills that facilitate cross-functional involvement.
* Basic project management skills are desirable but training will be provided if required.
* Ability to develop and present technical presentations to customers and others.
* Must be willing to travel for training, work with customers and for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
