Leading automotive client requires an experienced Finite Element Analysis engineer who will analyse new pumps and components as a hydraulic system and do FEA on various components and assemblies and also help develop concepts that enhance pump performance based analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Design & detailing of components for new generation CR fuel pumps that provide innovative concepts that promote competitive advantage in performance, cost and quality.
* Apply FEA & other numerical analysis tools for the design and optimisation of pumps.
* Provide competitive analysis and bench marking of competitors components for stress, hydraulic function etc.
* Provide analysis of other leverage product areas for new ideas to advance the art in pumps.
* Review patents of competitors and other companies for new idea generation.
* Apply ICIM methods using DOE\'s, 6 Sigma, Green Y and other statistical tools to achieve design robustness.
* Recommend design changes that help the program meet cost, DFM, performance and timing goals.
* Drive appropriate balancing of product performance, validation and cost requirements
* Facilitate fast and accurate two-way communication with development and process engineers to assure robust design and flawless launch objectives.
* Be positive, encourage, coach, and share knowledge with all Common Rail pump cross-functional team members.
* Participate in Program Project reviews and design reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Engineering degree or equivalent, in mechanical engineering or physics etc.
* Moderate ANSYS and MSC Fatigue simulation software experience.
* At Least 2 years experience in a design or development role is preferred.
* Must be innovative and visionary in developing design options.
* Must understand and apply physics to the design.
* Moderate FEA analysis experience on Solid Works or equivalent system
* High pressure pump and or fuel systems experience.
* Developed and supported a product that was successfully taken into volume production.
* DOE and statistical analysis knowledge is a plus.
* Must be able to constructively deal with conflict situations.
* Personal strengths should include: Confidence, self-directed, goal oriented, customer focused, with strong team interaction skills that facilitate cross-functional involvement.
* Good written and verbal communication.
* Must be willing to travel for training, work with customers and for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
